I hereby declare that I am medically fit and in good health to participate in the marathon (or insert specific event name). I have completed sufficient training for this physically demanding event and am aware of the risks involved, including the risk of serious injury or death. I understand that my participation is entirely at my own risk, and I agree to not hold the organisers, sponsors, or any assisting person responsible for any injury, illness, loss, or damage to my person or property incurred during or as a result of the event.

Acknowledgment and Consent I, the participant, understand that my participation in the The Purbeck Marathon (hereinafter “the Event”) may involve being photographed, filmed, or otherwise recorded by the event organizers, their representatives, employees, and/or official photographers. Release and Usage Rights By signing this form, I hereby grant The Purbeck Marathon, its assigns, transferees, and licensees the absolute and irrevocable right and unrestricted permission to capture, copyright, use, and publish photographs, video footage, and/or audio recordings of me taken during the Event. I agree that these images and recordings may be used for any lawful purpose, including, but not limited to: Event publicity and promotional materials (e.g., newsletters, flyers, brochures, annual reports, press kits). Online publications, social media channels, and the official event website. Advertising and public relations activities. Archival purposes. I waive any right to inspect or approve the finished product or any specific use of the images. I also waive any right to royalties, payment, or other compensation arising from or related to the use of these photographs and recordings. Waiver of Liability I release the event organizers and all parties mentioned above from any and all claims, demands, and liabilities whatsoever in connection with the aforementioned use of my image or likeness, including any claims for invasion of privacy, right of publicity, or defamation. Data Protection & Withdrawal of Consent I understand that once images are published, especially online, they may be kept permanently as an archive and may be difficult to remove. I have the right to ask the organization to stop using my image in future publications at any time by contacting info@thepurbeckmarathon.co.uk.

Agreement – I confirm that I am 18 years of age or older, and have read and understood the terms of this release.

PLEASE READ CAREFULLY. THIS DOCUMENT AFFECTS YOUR LEGAL RIGHTS AND CONSTITUTES A BINDING AGREEMENT.

In consideration of being permitted to participate in The Purbeck Marathon (hereinafter, the “Event”), I, the undersigned participant, agree to the following terms:

1. Acknowledgment of Risks Participating in a marathon is a hazardous activity and a test of physical and mental limits. I understand that participation involves inherent risks, including falls, contact with others, weather effects, traffic, and potential injury or illness, including catastrophic injury or death. I confirm that I am medically able and have trained adequately for the race.

2. Assumption of Risk I voluntarily assume all known and unknown risks, even those due to the negligence of others, and take full responsibility for my participation. I am aware of my physical limits and will stop if I become ill or injured.

3. Release and Waiver of Liability I, and my representatives, release the event organizers, sponsors, volunteers, officials, and others associated with the event (the “Releasees”) from claims for damages, liabilities, injury, property damage, or death resulting from my participation. This includes claims due to the Releasees’ negligence.

4. Indemnification I agree to indemnify and hold the Releasees harmless from any costs, claims, or damages arising from my actions during the Event or any injury or damage to a third party caused by my participation.

5. Medical Consent and Expenses I consent to medical treatment during the event if needed. I am responsible for all medical expenses incurred due to my participation.

6. Publicity Consent I allow the Releasees to use my likeness in photographs, videos, and recordings of the Event for legitimate purposes without compensation.

7. Compliance with Rules I agree to follow all rules and directions from event officials.

8. Governing Law This Agreement is governed by the laws of England & the United Kingdom.
